Formed in the late 60’s, South Korea’s largest car manufacturer, Hyundai, had a reputation for producing middle-of-the-road family saloons, but all that changed with the formation of the Hyundai Motorsport division. Debuting in WRC during 2014, they were soon on the podium and progressed to win back-to-back manufacturers’ titles, keen to transfer this success and knowledge gained through motorsport to the road. Hyundai’s N division was formed and in 2018 unleashed the marque’s first true hot hatch, the i30N. The success of the i30N saw EXCELR8 Motorsport introduce Hyundai to the BTCC in 2020, where they’ve enjoyed continued success and with Scorpion’s involvement ensures true track to road technology transfer.

Road-Test Review:
During our road test, we evaluated the valved GPF-back system in combination with our non-resonated GPF bypass section, which had been installed prior to this development phase and was not fitted at our HQ.
In Normal and Eco modes, with the valve closed, the system delivered a sporty yet refined tone — ideal for daily driving and overall usability. However, in Sport and N modes, the valve fully opened, unleashing a far more guttural and aggressive exhaust note.
This setup provided a dynamic driving experience, allowing the soundtrack to adapt to the driver’s mood, driving style, and conditions.
GPF-Back System:
Our expert technicians have developed a 76mm/3” GPF-back system with twin 114mm circular tailpipes or 114 x 89mm oval trims, specifically for the Hyundai Kona N model. Explore the full specification breakdown and available options below!
This exhaust is non-resonated, meaning it comes without a centre silencer. Removing the original silencer results in a louder sound.
Does our system retain or remove valve functionality? If optioned as valved, drivers will retain control of the car’s soundtrack via the mode select button, allowing the ECU to modulate the sound levels from the Scorpion exhaust. Alternatively, with a non-valved system, this functionality is removed, providing a continuous exhaust tone without interruptions from the OEM valve operations.
Once installed, the acoustically tuned silencers — featuring specialised, unique internals (on systems equipped with mid-silencers or backboxes) — and precision CNC mandrel-bent pipework enable the exhaust system to expel engine gases more efficiently. This results in enhanced power delivery, sharper throttle response, and reduced curb weight, thanks to the full stainless-steel construction. Tailpipe Styles:
Ascari: Our premium sport option, available exclusively in a matte carbon finish, highlights the distinctive sporty carbon weave. Its two-piece floating construction, with an inner brushed stainless-steel insert, allows hot gases to pass through without discolouring or weakening the outer carbon fibre shell.
Daytona: This design needs no introduction, the classic Scorpion Daytona slash-cut style with a modern twist on a timeless look. The Daytona is a great-looking option for everything from hot hatchbacks to flagship autobahn saloons.
Evo R: Our larger oval sport option, the Evo-style trim, features a distinctive inward-rolled edge. It’s a subtle yet impactful upgrade over standard designs — enhancing your car’s appearance without being overly flashy and offering a perfectly balanced aesthetic with superior construction quality and materials.

Polished: Premium T304 stainless steel polished trims undergo a meticulous multi-step buffing process, resulting in a long-lasting, mirror-like finish that stays shining. (Available for Daytona trim only.)
