BMW really came to be recognised as producers of performance saloons after the formation of their famous M Division in the 1970’s, and a real game changer for them was the launch of the E30 M3 in 1986, which went on to gain numerous championship victories in touring car racing. One of the first exhausts Scorpion developed was their own performance exhaust for the E30 M3, and at the same time Scorpion introduced the legendary DTM tailpipe to the UK market. Ever since Scorpion has been at the forefront of producing performance exhausts for BMW’s M cars and numerous others.

Road-Test Review:
During our road test, we extensively evaluated our non-resonated valved cat-back system in real-world driving conditions. We found minimal intrusive drone, even when the engine was under load on inclines. When driven casually, the cabin environment remained audibly refined and tame, offering excellent daily drivability.
However, this transformed when Sport mode was engaged, and the throttle was pressed, unleashing the system’s full soundtrack. The result was an impressive, sporty, and aggressive growl and bark throughout the rev range.
Cat-Back System:
Our expert technicians have developed an 80mm/3.15” cat-back system with twin 100mm tailpipes specifically for the BMW M135i F20/F21 non-GPF models. Here’s a closer look at the specifications and available options!
This exhaust is non-resonated, meaning it comes without a centre silencer. Removing the original silencer results in a louder sound.
Does our system retain or remove valve functionality? If optioned as valved, drivers will retain control of the car’s soundtrack via the mode select button, allowing the ECU to modulate the sound levels from the Scorpion exhaust.
Alternatively, with a non-valved system, this functionality is removed, providing a continuous exhaust tone without interruptions from the OEM valve operations.
Once installed, the new freer-flowing cat-back system ensures efficient expulsion of exhaust gases, improving the vehicle’s power delivery and sharpening throttle response while also reducing overall weight.
Tailpipe Styles:
Ascari: Our premium sport option, available exclusively in a matte carbon finish, highlights the distinctive sporty carbon weave. Its two-piece floating construction, with an inner brushed stainless-steel insert, allows hot gases to pass through without discolouring or weakening the outer carbon shell.
Daytona: This design needs no introduction, the classic Scorpion Daytona slash-cut style with a modern twist on a timeless look. The Daytona is a great-looking option for everything from hot hatchbacks to flagship autobahn saloons.
